My condolences to Ruth,Karen, Janice, and Bobby. Even though I am far away in El Paso, TX now, living across the street from "the Johnson's" when we were kids is a very happy part of my childhood memories. We had lots of fun playing behind the "big hedge" and walking up to Kohl's to see Ruth in the bakery. Bob always had a smile and something nice to say to all the neighborhood kids. I am sure that he will be missed by all of his grandchildren. God's blessings to all of you.

I really feel bad about not being with you at this time. I know you understand. Brick was a pillar of strenght to me. He stood for all the right things. Always welcomed everyone with open arms. In looking back I do not ever remember him ever saying a bad word about anyone. He took his mother's advice. If you cannot say something nice about someone, say nothing. I will miss my brother and have cried over his loss. He was an excellent sketch artist and could sketch anything; just another of his many talents along with being a very good pool player. I have only one regret and that is I live 2000 miles from him for the last 40 years and was not able to enjoy his company but for occasional visits. All my love go to you Ruth and your family, Karen, Janice,Robert, their husbands and wives, and all of Brick's grandchildren.

I have good memories of having the Johnsons as neighbors and playing and being babysat by Karen and "Janny". They were the kind of neighbors everyone would like to have. I can never remember a harsh word from Bob. Condolences to the family and kudos for a really neat Web tribute to him!

Bob was our neighbor and friend on Beckett Ave. for about 37 years. We never had an argument or disagreement in all those years. He was always ready with a smile and helping hand. Ruth sent vegetables over from their garden and Karen and Janice baby-sat with our girls. We were Bobby's sponsors when he was baptized. We think of you often and send our sympathy. Our girls also send condolences.

What I remember most is when I was a teenager and Uncle Brick would go hunting with us and he was always so kind and nice to talk to. He always had a smile and enjoyed life. He was a very kind man.
